The Devil Wears Sheldonhall

The Devil Wears Sheldonhall.

Finishing touches and linings being sealed this week.
Really good progress.

I wish there was a machine that counted how many stitches go into something like this.
Everything from the first tacking, the basting, machining, gathering, holding stitches, oversewing, under stitches.. even the stitches to fix the fastenings.

What's that saying...

'a stitch in time saves nine'

I can confirm...... this is incorrect.

This is our needle pouch. It's empty because i'm one of those..... put it down....
pick up another.
Emma maneges to keep the same needle the entire garment.
Shes got magnetic fingers.

One more toile to go before all is done.

This book brings back memories for me. It reminds me of when i was getting into being creative with fashion. It was a favourite of mine in the College library.
Its been out of print for ages.....
I found it in a shop window a few days ago for £5! Some people just don't know what they're selling.

Also last week, we too a trip to London to see a couple of Exhibitions.

Club to Catwalk at the V&A.....

and the Amazing

Isabella blow- Fashion Galore at Sommerset House.
It was so wonderful to see the things she wore upclose.
A very special lady.

Busy Bees

Another busy week.
I've been toiling all week, spent a fortune on Calico.
All is toiled, all the fabric is paid for.
                       So, best get crackin.

You know a design is going to work well,
when the pattern pieces are insane.

Sometimes Bigger is Better.

Ive been bulking up the mannequin, to create a fat-thin look.

Not got much to report form Emma, She's suffing like a trooper.
Couople more weeks and all should be done. Then i get the job of mounting her handy work
onto the garment... exciting.
